The National Sports day held on 29 August 2020. The National Sports Day 2020 is celebrated on the birth anniversary of our Hockey legend Major Dyan Chand. This year’s National Sports Day, The President Ram Nath Kovind will confer the top sporting accolades to 65 of 74 awards in the very first virtual ceremony of it. The famous cricketer Rohit Sharma and our Gold medalist wrestler Vinesh Phogat will not be able to join this year’s virtual ceremony.

The Ministry of sports announced that Rani Rampal, Vinesh Phogat, Rohit Sharma, Manika Batra, and Mariyappan Thangavelu as five Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna winners and 27 other sportspeople for the Arjuna Award.
