Zomato Food Rescue: Book Cancelled Orders At Discounted Price

Steps to avail

  • Zomato has launched a brand new feature on its app. The feature is called 'Zomato Food Rescue' as its main aim is to reduce the food wastage happens due to cancelled orders.

    Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal announced this feature on platform X.

    How This Feature Will Work?

    • Whenever an order with original untampered packaging will get cancelled. A pop-up within 3km range of delivery partner will appear on the user's home screen for a few minutes. User will see the discounted price and have few minutes to accept the order.
    • This order will be visible for a few minutes only to maintain the freshness of the offer. 
    • Orders with temperature-sensitive items such as ice-creams, smoothies etc. will not be included on this program as these items don't remain fresh for a long time. 
    • The original customer and the most close users to the original location will not get receive the option to claim.

    "Zomato will not keep any proceeds (except the required government taxes). The amount paid by the new customer will be shared with the original customer (if they made payment online), and with the restaurant partner," CEO said.

    Note - It is possible that this feature is not available for every user but it will rolled out to every user very soon (you can try updating your app).
