5 Traditional Festive Drinks that are Served in Holi
Holi is not only a festival of colors and sweets but also a festival of traditional and classic drinks that are widely popular in India. And without those traditional drinks, the Holi celebration remains incomplete.
There are two ways in which these drinks are treated - some of them are called pre-celebration drinks, while some are called post-celebration drinks. So, what are those drinks?
In this blog, we will discuss some traditional festive drinks for the Holi. We suggest you read this blog until the end as it might give you some celebration ideas for this Holi 2023.
1. Bhang Ka Sharbat

Holi and that too, without Bhang Ka Sharbat (Juice of Cannabis)? Impossible, it just cannot happen that people, especially Indian, are celebrating Holi without Bhang. There are numerous benefits of moderate consumption of cannabis, but still, it should be consumed in a controlled manner.
The fantastic flavour of Bhang Ka Sharbat (though I never got the opportunity to taste it) is said to have a soothing effect on the consumer's mind, and maybe this is why parents prevent their children from drinking Bhang Ka Sharbat. Because, after all, Bhang (cannabis) is a drug.
The ingredients in the Bhang Ka Sharbat Include poppy seed paste, fennel seeds powder, almond powder, milk, black pepper, and bhang.
2. Thandai

Thandai is another popular drink consumed the most during the holi and the entire summer. Most people prefer and enjoy drinking it when chilled.
The main ingredient of Thandai is curd and seeds, sweeteners, and other nuts and ingredients added. And to double the enjoyment of drinking Thandai, you can add fruits to your Thandai.
Thandai comes in various flavors, such as banana, guava, almond etc. to give you the pleasure you desire while tasting Thandai.
3. Kanji

Kanji is a widely popular holi beverage in the region of Rajasthan and Marwar, it is made using fried moong or urad daal.
This is a low-in-calorie drink and is full of nutrients and taste. The probiotic elements of this drink make it an ideal drink to consume in holi, as it helps to recharge ourselves post-celebration of the Holi.
4. Lassi

Lassi is one of the most refreshing and enjoyable drinks that you can have in Holi. And agree or not, every year when we are done with playing Holi, we eagerly wait for the Lassi to be served so that we can get the energy back that we enthusiastically spent playing Holi.
Just like Thandai, which we discussed earlier in this blog, Lassi is also available in different flavors that include mango, chikoo, strawberry, etc. All these flavors make you feel so good and refreshed that you cannot keep yourself from enjoying and praising their tastes.
5. Kesari Doodh (Safron Milk)

Holi is the festival that makes all of us eat excessively, and then we get problems digesting them, and this is when Kesari Doodh or Saffron MIlk can perform miracles.
This traditional beverage has sugar, pistachios, cardamom, and almonds. These ingredients do not only make this drink nutritious but also make it super tasty and help us digest everything that we ate while celebrating and enjoying the colorful festival, Holi.
So, you do not have to be worried about overeating this Holi, because Kesari Doodh has got your back and will digest everything that you are going to eat. You no longer have to compromise with consuming your favourite sweets or drinking your preferred beverages!
